5 Work From Home Style Tips

Working from home is a permanent option for people in the workforce today. Sure, most organizations have been calling for their employees to go back to the office, but most employees prefer to work from home due to concerns with the pandemic. Instead of staying in our pajamas all day, it’s better to wear the right clothes that put you in the mood for work. Here are a few work from home style tips from experienced remote workers.

Switch on the ‘work mode’ button

People could do the smallest of things; putting on a little makeup or getting dressed for a regular working day. This immediately sets your mind and body to work mode. This is also pretty handy when WFH employees get sudden video calls or have to attend Zoom meetings.

Don’t dress for comfort

While it is tempting to work from home all day in caftans and lounge wear, most experienced remote workers object this. Always change out of your sleepwear to feel like you’re dressed for work. Another important note is to keep away from working on the couch or bed.

Balance style and comfort

It’s best to do work from home on proper desks and ergonomic chairs. Instead of opting for stiff, thick fabrics, choose to wear cotton shirts or pants made of linen or silk. The clothes you choose should be stylish enough to put your body in work mode, but also comfortable enough that you can do your work efficiently.

Set up a uniform

Having a uniform gives a sense of structure in your daily WFH routine. You could go from the combo of leggings with a white T-shirt and cardigan or slacks with a shirt and accessories.

Be bold and bright

Working from home gives you a chance to wear the bright prints that have been stowed away in the closet. Bring out the shirts with bold prints or stripes and add more colours (and fun!) to your remote working experience. Plus, you can make bold statements by wearing bright colours or patterned shirts during video calls or online meetings.
